Evaluating the 49ers’ offense and defense in their victory over the Raiders in overtime

Breaking Sports news USA: On New Year’s Day, the 49er’s defense displayed a marked lack of signature style. According to defensive end Nick Bosa, the 49ers may have undervalued Jarrett Stidham, the starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders.
But ultimately, the 49ers’ 37-34 overtime triumph at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday was the result of the defense making the game-winning play. Watch more sports news update online.

As Stidham was throwing, Bosa pulled Raiders left tackle Kolton Miller into him.
Safety. To set up Robbie Gould’s game-winning field goal, Tashaun Gipson intercepted the wobbler and returned it 56 yards in overtime.

Kyle Shanahan, head coach of the 49ers, stated, “I think it was a terrific game for us.
We didn’t play flawlessly.

Passing infraction

Maxx Crosby of the Raiders was successfully neutralised by the 49ers offensive line, particularly right tackle Mike McGlinchey.
In the contest, the Raiders did not record any sacks.

Purdy encountered a difficulty and made the appropriate decisions.
Purdy had a passer rating of 95.4 after completing 22 of his 35 pass attempts for 284 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

The 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk said of Purdy, who assisted in bringing the team back from a 10-point hole in the second half, “Today showed us this dude’s on a another level.”

With nine receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown, Aiyuk had a productive day.
For an additional six receptions and 72 yards, McCaffrey. George Kittle scored a touchdown and had four receptions for 23 yards.

Hasty defence

The 49ers defense was not used to being pushed around in this manner. On 32 attempts, Las Vegas gained 135 yards via rushing.
The 49ers had allowed the second-most ground yards in a single game this year.

Josh Jacobs set the tone for the Raiders, carrying 17 times for 69 yards and a score.

When T.Y. McGill and Charles Omenihu stopped Jacobs on a fourth-down play close to the goal line, the 49ers’ run defence was at its best.

“You couldn’t tell he was a backup,” says Jarrett Stidham after his first start for the Raiders

Jarrett Stidham gathered his Las Vegas Raiders teammates and apologised after making his first professional start in which he passed for 365 yards and three touchdowns.

He expressed regret for not being able to defeat the San Francisco 49ers and their top-ranked defense in Sunday’s 37-34 overtime loss to the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.

“Man, get out of here with that,” I believe every member of the team yelled.
Davante Adams of the Raiders, who caught seven catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns from Stidham, said, “You balled out and you did your thing.

Brock Purdy receives praise for guiding the 49ers from behind.

Purdy completed 22 of 35 passes for 284 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception for a final passer rating of 68.5. His sixth consecutive game with at least one touchdown throw tied Justin Herbert of the Chargers for the second-longest rookie record since the 1970 merger (Harris had seven straight games in 2020).
And Purdy has thrown multiple touchdown passes in each of the previous five games, joining Dak Prescott from around 2016 as the only rookies in NFL history to accomplish both feats while winning all five of those contests.

What Purdy accomplished in the fourth quarter was arguably his most outstanding performance.
He had played a total of nine snaps with the 49ers trailing at any point before Sunday.
